The Microsoft Imagine Cup is the world's premier student technology competition. It provides an opportunity for students to use their creativity, passion, and knowledge os technology to help solve global challenges and make a difference in the world. While completing for cash and prizes, students gain real-life expirience, make new friends, and change the world.
Now in its tenth year, the Imagine Cup has grown to be a truly global competition focused on finding solutions to real-world problems. 358,000 students representing 183 countries and regions registered for the Imagine Cup 2011 Competition.

Students are tasked to apply their imagination and passion to create technology solutions aligned to the Imagine Cup 2012 Theme. Combat diseases, improve education, ensure environmental sustainability, create disaster communication systems, help all children read and write, create innovations for people with disabilities, or reduce child mortality. Team Edunology from Oman won first place at the Gulf regional finals with a software designed to provide opportunities for donors to help in educating the unfortunate individuals in the world. The software acts as an interaction hub between the helper, the school and the student being financed.
Oman also won second place on the worldwide stage in the Digital Media category. Team Brothers Forever displayed unique talent that took them all the way to the top.

Imagine Cup is available in all countries around the world with Microsoft Gulf covering the following countries:

This year, each Gulf country will host a local country final that will take place in April 2012. The first place winner of the Software Design category in each country will advance to the worldwide finals in Australia. That could be you!
